Sports Remedial and Orthopedic Massage Course

Sports & Remedial Massage Therapy is about helping athletes maximise their performance, reduce the risk of injury and speed the recovery when injured. NSRT graduates all over Ireland are recognised for the quality of their work and we have therapists treating all the top athletes, Rugby, GAA and soccer players in the country.
This course is ideal for people interested in a career change or learning a new skill. It is aimed at giving a comprehensive understanding of the most effective techniques leading to participants having the knowledge and skills to practice professionally as a sports & remedial massage therapist. A very high percentage of our graduates are operating very successful clinics all over Ireland and with the huge emphasis on keeping fit the demand for their services is on the increase.

During the course our students have the opportunity to work in the following events:

Module Details

Taping & Strapping, On field Management and Kinesiology Taping are now part of the course

Sports & Remedial Massage Therapy:

  • Theory [only one theory paper and it’s a MCQ paper]
  • Taking Place in SISM Clinic, Moneen Ind. Est., Castlebar, Co.Mayo

Required Books:

  • Book List will be supplied prior to the course commencing

Examination:

  • Practical examination x 2
  • Theory examination x 2
  • Multiple choice questions
  • Continuous Assessment
  • Case Studies, 10 hours a month minimum

Each Student Requires:

  • Bottle of grapeseed oil
  • 2 Towels
  • Comfortable clothing (polo shirt & tracksuit bottoms)
