Austin Bradshaw has always been interested in Sports and Fitness, having trained in many different styles of Martial Arts for almost 30 years. Austin began training in Karate at the age of eight, achieving his Black Belt in Shika Do Karate in Aug 1990. He has since then moved up the ranks from being a student to the Chief Instructor of the same school now holding the rank of Master at 6th Degree Black Belt. At present Austin teaches Karate 4 times a week. He is also one of three founding members of the Irish Budokai Society and hold’s the rank of 2nd Degree in Tae Kwan Do.
Throughout Austin’s time training in Martial Arts he has travelled to many locations as part of demo teams and also competing. In Sept 2000 he won 2 gold, 1 silver & 1 bronze medal at the International World Open Championships in Dublin.
Austin began studying to become a Massage Therapist in 2003 after facing an operation to his back. He found David Corcoran who, with Remedial Massage Therapy helped him to avoid surgery. Austin then decided that this was the path for him. He qualified in May 2004 as a Sports & Remedial Massage Therapist from the course run in Castlebar Co. Mayo and now hold’s clinics in Donore, Castleblaney & Croke Parc Handball Alley’s.
A lot of his clients come from Handball, Football, Athletics & Martial Arts backgrounds. He has worked on Paul Brady (World Handball Champion), Eoin Kennedy (All Ireland Doubles & Singles Champion) & Ian Jenson (All Irelands Doubles Champion). Austin also was the chief Massage Therapist for the World Handball Championships held in Croke Park in 2003 and again for the Ulster Open in Feb 2007.
